MTH1 General Math I
First semester of a one-year course.
Topics: patterns in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; least common multiples, estimating, decimals, central tendency; area and perimeter, circles and circumference; metric system.
½ credit, 7 assignments, 2 exams
MTH2 General Math II
Second semester of a one-year course.
Topics: introducing two- and multiple-step equations; solving for two variables; circles and circumference; metric system; function and graphing, ratio, proportion, fractions, and percent; probability and statistics; applying algebra to geometry; measuring area and volume; applying algebra to right triangles; polynomials.
½ credit, 8 assignments, 2 exams
MTH3 Algebra I, First Semester
First semester of a one-year course.
Topics: graphing data, variables, order of operations, basic functions with real and rational numbers, functions and their graphs, solving one- and two-step equations, solving multiple-step inequalities, graphing linear equations, systems of equalities.
½ credit, 6 assignments, 2 exams
MTH4 Algebra I, Second Semester
Second semester of a one-year course.
Topics: solving quadratic equations, functions and their graphs, exponents and exponential functions, right triangles and radical expressions, polynomials, rational expressions and functions.
½ credit, 6 assignments, 2 exams
MTH5 Geometry I
First semester of a one-year course.
Topics: points, lines, definitions, “if-then” statements, angles, reflections, polygons, transformations, and congruence.
½ credit, 6 assignments, 2 exams
MTH6 Geometry II
Second semester of a one-year course.
Topics: triangles, measurements formulas, three-dimensional figures, areas, volumes, coordinate geometry, similarity, logic, and indirect reasoning. Prerequisite: MTH5 or equivalent content.
½ credit, 6 assignments, 2 exams
MTH8 Shop Mathematics
One-semester math course.
Topics: applicable to math skill development in the technical and industrial arts fields.
½ credit, 10 assignments, 2 exams
MTH9 Consumer Mathematics
One-semester math course.
Topics: solving everyday-life arithmetic problems about income, banking, purchases, credit, loans, owning a car, using other modes of transportation, and buying a house.
½ credit, 8 assignments, 1 exam
