BI2 Biology II
Second semester of a one-year course.
Topics: continuity through development and evolution; ordering life in the biosphere; prokaryotes (viruses and disease); eukaryotes (protist, fungi, plants, and animals); food and energy.

ES1 Earth Science I
First semester of a one-year course.
Topics: the planet Earth as an ecosystem; mass, matter and energy, conversation of matter and energy, carrying capacity, energy units and conversion, thermodynamics; plate tectonics, rock types, ore, alloys, using minerals, and environmental impact.
½ credit, 7 assignments, 2 exams
ES2 Earth Science II
Second semester of a one-year course.
Topics: sources and uses of energy, resources and reserves; nuclear energy and fuels, advantages and disadvantages of nuclear power; energy alternatives, synthetic fuels; wave, wind, and solar energy; energy conservation, storage, and technology.
½ credit, 8 assignments, 1 exam
H1 Personal Health I
First semester of a basic health education course.
Topics: personal hygiene, wellness, body systems, fitness, nutrition, tobacco and alcohol, AIDS and other diseases.

H2 Personal Health II
Second semester of a basic health education course.
Topics: racism, stereotyping, and prejudices; human sexuality; AIDS and STDs; substance abuse; environmental health.
